Parvo is a deadly and highly contagious virus that attacks a dog’s digestive system, causing severe vomiting, diarrhoea, and dehydration.
📌 It spreads through:
- 🐶 Direct contact with infected dogs
- 🦠 Contaminated surfaces (soil, bowls, shoes, hands)
Puppies and unvaccinated dogs are most at risk. Without treatment, most dogs do not survive.
⚠️ Signs
- Severe, foul-smelling diarrhoea (often bloody)
- Vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Extreme weakness & lethargy
- Fever or low body temperature
- Dehydration (dry gums, sunken eyes, skin stays “tented” when pinched)
🏥 What to Do
🚨 Parvo is an emergency—act fast!
- Take your dog to the vet immediately! They need IV fluids and medication to survive.
- Isolate the sick dog to stop the spread.
