Feline Parvovirus (also called Panleukopenia or Feline Distemper) is a very contagious virus that affects cats, especially kittens. It harms their immune system and digestive system, causing serious symptoms. Without treatment, it can be deadly.
⚠️ Signs
- Throwing up a lot
- Watery or bloody diarrhoea
- Not eating
- Feeling weak or tired
- Fever or low temperature
- Dehydration (dry gums, sunken eyes, skin stays up when pinched)
- Yellow or pale gums (jaundice)
🏥 What To Do
- Take your cat to the vet right away. This disease needs quick treatment with IV fluids and medicine.
- Keep your cat away from other pets to stop the virus from spreading.
- Encourage drinking by giving small amounts of water or an electrolyte solution if your cat will drink.
- Watch for worsening symptoms. If vomiting or diarrhoea doesn’t stop, take your cat to the vet.
