Dogs

Canine Distemper Virus - A contagious viral infection that affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems, leading to severe illness or death.

Hepatitis and Kennel Cough - Hepatitis is a viral liver disease, while kennel cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection caused by several pathogens.

Parainfluenza - A respiratory virus that often causes coughing and fever in dogs.

Canine Parvovirus - A severe viral infection that causes vomiting, diarrhea, and can lead to dehydration and death, particularly in puppies.

What to do:

• Ensure your dog receives all core vaccines on schedule, including those for distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza.
• Keep your dog away from potentially infected areas until they’re fully vaccinated

Cats

Feline Parvovirus (Panleukopenia) - A highly contagious virus that attacks the intestines, causing severe vomiting, diarrhoea, and dehydration.

Feline Herpesvirus - A common respiratory virus in cats that causes symptoms like sneezing, eye discharge, and fever.

Feline Calicivirus - Another respiratory virus that can cause severe mouth ulcers and respiratory distress.

Chlamydophila Felis - A bacterial infection that leads to conjunctivitis in cats.

Feline Leukemia Virus (FelV) - A viral infection that weakens the immune system and can lead to cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

What to do:

• Vaccinate your cat regularly for the core vaccines, including parvovirus, herpesvirus, calicivirus, and FelV.
• Keep your cat indoors to reduce the risk of exposure to these diseases.
